Welcome to the Ocean Room! The Ocean room is a stimulating classroom environment for our Pre-k students. We follow the Department of Education's Early childhood curricula, which include ten units of study (Welcome to Pre-K, My Five Senses, All About Us, Where We Live, Transportation, Light, Water, Plants, Babies, and Transformation). Each month we introduce our students to a new unit. There are 8 learning centers in our classroom (writing center, block center, dramatic play center, art center, science center, library center, and table toys center). Each center contains materials for each month's unit of study. The Ocean room is filled with fun and engaging activities for hands-on learning experiences. Throughout the school year, we work on building our social/emotional skills, encouraging verbal development, and working on fine motor and gross motor skills. I can not wait to meet you all!
Meet Our Teachers
The Ocean Room - Head Teacher
Hello, my name is Ms. Erika, and I am the Head Teacher for the Ocean Room! This is my fifth year teaching Pre-K but my fourth year teaching at Wisdom Tree Preschool. I am looking forward to meeting all of my students! Some of you may know me already from afterschool Spanish class. I have my Master’s degree in Early Childhood and Special Education Birth-Grade 2. I also have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Human Services. In addition, I have 450 hours of fieldwork experience in an ICT classroom setting and 250 hours in a General Education classroom. When I’m not working, I enjoy advocating for parents of children with disabilities.
I cannot wait to see you all,
Ms. Erika
